Yes, we do have 1 Miele washing machine and 2 Bosch dryers, these are located in the utility room. Please see the Floor plan to locate the Utility room.

Do you accept pets?
We are pet friendly, however, we ask for the type, size, and weight of the breed before accepting the booking, and a charge is advised accordingly. We do have a strict policy that does not allow them on the bedding and furniture.

What is the minimum and maximum number of guests you sleep midweek?
A minimum of 2 adults to a maximum 36 plus infants.

What is the minimum and maximum number of guests you sleep for a weekend stay?
Please note we have a minimum rate for a 2 night weekend stay for 20 guests as we sleep 36+ guests. We do not offer any further reductions below our minimum rate, if it is your numbers fall below 20. We also do not offer a child or teen discount under 20 guests.

Do you ask for a Security Deposit?
Yes our Security Deposit starts from a minimum of £200.00 to a maximum of £350.00 depending on your guest numbers. For weekend stays we request this to be paid on or before 48 hours prior to your arrival date. For midweek stays we request this to be paid on or before 24 hours prior to your arrival date.

Is my Security Deposit Refunded after my stay?
Yes, around 48 hours after departure and subject to no breakages or damages, please see our T & Cs and House Rules for ease of its return.

Are Children welcome?
Yes, we are a child friendly property and provide 3 travel cots, (no bedding) a high chair and stair gate.

Do you provide a travel cot, stair gate and high chair?
Yes, we have 3 travel cots, although do not supply the bedding. We can provide 1 stair gate located at the bottom of the stairs. And we can provide 1 high chair. Please request when booking.

Can I amend the times of arrival and or departure?
Yes, however, we can only alter the arrival and departure time by 1 hour, subject to availability. If you request over 1 hour an overnight rate is charged. We accept an earlier arrival of 2pm or a late departure of 12 noon, there is a charge of £50.00 per amendment.

Is there a charge if we are late checking out?
Your agreed departure time is 11am. Unless you have requested and paid for a late departure subject to availability, please enquire by email for an amendment rate. This is specified on your Booking Contract and Confirmation Letter.
Due to cleaners arriving at your departure time, unfortunately, we do have to make a charge if you are late checking out. Please see our T&Cs.

Can I add guests onto my booking once the booking is made?
You can add guests onto your booking up to 72 hours prior to your arrival date.

Do I need individual travel insurance?
Individual Travel Insurance for our guests is advised by us as our bookings are non refundable/changeable. This saves client(s) loosing any payment for the booking. A lot of our clients are covered on their home insurance or by their banks, so always check before perhaps purchasing it as each clients circumstances differ if they do perhaps need to cancel their stay.

Can I have a Therapist or Beauty Treatments?
Please see our local services tab for our recommendations. Alternatively, if you wish to choose your own, please note we require your chosen company to send us an email with their insurance liability policy (it must be a minimum of 5 million pounds to attend the property).

Can I have a wedding at the Property?

Do I have to recycle my refuse?
Please use the bins as marked. General Waste and Recycling. Please put any glass bottles in the recycling bin.

Do I have to take away my refuse?
No, we have 2 large commercial bins and 2 small bins located externally at the second gate of the car park.

Do you provide hand wash, hand and body cream, shower gel, conditioner and shampoo?
Yes we provide a White Company flowers 30ml bottle of shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and hand and body cream, per bathroom. As well as a 100ml White company flowers hand wash bottle per bathroom.

Do you provide a welcome tray?
Yes, we provide a welcome tray, it includes a selection of Teas, Hot chocolate, Coffee, and sachets of diluted Orange and Blackcurrant Squash. For condiments we provide a sachet of salt and pepper. Brown and white sugar sachets are also left. Milk is also left available.

Do we receive any complimentary gifts for my stay?
We provide a complimentary Horspool Prosecco bottle and locally sourced sweets or chocolates for large bookings. For small bookings we provide locally sourced sweets or chocolates.

Do you provide WiFi Internet access?Yes, we have Starlink unlimited satellite wifi. The name of the wifi is Horspool-Retreat and no password is required.

If I have any questions during my stay, is there a contact?
Yes both Erin who is the General Manager and Solomon who is the Marketing Manager are available at your convenience and their phone numbers are provided for you prior to your stay.

Is there a Sound System?
Yes ,we provide a large free standing PYLEUSA speaker located in the living room. It can be connected via bluetooth or an aux cable. Please note we do not allow any electrics to include the speaker in the pool room.

Is there anybody on site during my stay?
Staff are required onsite 24/7 to manage the grounds, heating system and air conditioning, and general maintenance and management of the property.

How many guests do you allow to sleep at the property?
A maximum of 36 plus infants.

Do you allow visitors?
We are charged by our Insurance for Visitors as we are Self Catering Accommodation. We are not Venue Hire. (People wishing to visit). We apologise this is the case and do understand it is unfortunate that we have to make a charge for Visitors per person to cover the uplift on our Insurance. There is also an increase in the Security Deposit. We only accept a maximum of 50 visitors internally in the property. However, we can accept more than 50 guests if it is you wish to book a Wedding or event with us.
We require the following please to offer a rate:
- Number of visitors
- Name
- Time of arrival
- Time of departure
These details are required for our Insurance Liability Policy and the law on Fire Regulations.

Can I smoke during my stay?
Not in the Property, but we provide a commercial sized ash tray on the wall in the Courtyard, and outside the main front door for your convenience.

Can I use Biro or Pens, whilst seated on the sofas?
We ask you not to use any type of biro, pen, markers, felt tip pen, paints, etc whilst seated on any of the leather sofas or chairs. The ink does not remove. There is a charge per panel damaged, that may need replacing. The price starts from £35.00 per panel, fitted. This is deducted from your Security Deposit. Please see our House Rules for this point.

Can I use candles?
The fire alarms are very sensitive, so we ask you not to use candles, as they can set the alarms off. If it is late at night, Staff may not be available to switch off the loud siren until the following morning.

Can I use feathers, party poppers, glitter, confetti etc?
This causes more cleaning as it is difficult to fully remove on a 4 hours turn around and therefore we make a minimum charge of £100.00, as we need more Staff on site.

Do you provide inflatables?
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide inflatables due to our Public Liability insurance. However, you are welcome to bring your own.

Can I use fireworks at the property?
We are not insured for Fireworks at the property, so we're sorry, we must refuse these.

Can I lock the pool doors?
Yes we provide a key for both doors that access the pool.

Do you have a DVD player?
Yes in the main seating area.

Do you have cooling fans in the bedrooms, during hot weather?
Yes, they are left available in the wardrobe for you.

Do you provide electric car charging?
Yes, We are in Partnership with Tesla and Porsche and have Electric Multi Charge Vehicle Points available for all Electric Vehicles.These are for our Clients use who are staying on site with us. There is no charge and you may have unlimited use.

Do you provide hair dryers?
We Provide 1 hair-dryer in each of the bedrooms; these are usually placed in the top draw.

Do you provide toilet roll?
We supply 2-3 toilet rolls in each bathroom, but you may wish to bring some in addition.

Do you provide towels?
Yes we supply a set of towels per person, to include a bath and hand towel, these are left on the beds in your bedroom. Prior to your arrival, we request you to provide your Sleeping plan and how many guests are going to be staying in each bedroom, to therefore ensure the correct amount of bath and hand towels are left on the beds. If this is not provided the correct amount of bath and hand towels are left in the Utility room.

We also provide a Hand Towel in the Utility and Lobby Wash-rooms.
Swimming pool Towels are on request at the time of booking and are charged.

What Television (TV) package do you provide?
The TV in the main area and Bedroom 5 (Emperor Suite) are Smart TVs. All other bedrooms and the kitchen are standard TVs.

What type of pillows do you supply?
A mixture. Feather and Hollow Fibre. Both have hypoallergenic pillow case covers.

What type of Pool table is it?
The Pool table is American with a slate top.

Why do I have to use your preferred Catering Company?
Our Insurance Company requests a 5 million pound Liability Policy which our Catering Company/Private Chef holds. They are also fully aware of the operation of the induction hob and ovens/microwaves to save any issues with your food being overcooked/under-heated.
Our own kitchen items are left available and our Chef is fully aware of these and this saves guests being invoiced for kitchen items taken in error by other companies who do not know the Kitchen Area.
Our recommended supplier has all of this in place for your piece of mind.

Are there any walks around the Property?
Yes, we have 20 acres of private gated land surrounding the property. We are just 2 fields away from a stroll along the River Trent and there are detailed left in the Guest Book in the Kitchen Area.

Can I connect my laptop or Apple TV to a television?
Yes, we have a 65 inch Smart TV in the main Lounge and Bedroom 5.

Can I decorate the house with Balloons and Banners?
Yes, but ask for these to be removed after your stay and use white tack. Please see our Booking T & Cs in case of damage to the walls.

Can I move the furniture in the property?
We do not permit any furniture to include, sofa’s, all table’s etc (non exhaustive list) to be moved. Please do not take any internal furniture outside to include dinning chairs or any other internal seating, tables etc. We accept no responsibility for any injury caused, if this is not adhered to.

Can I have a service not on your recommendations under Services?
Yes, but they must have an Insurance Liability Policy, which has a minimum of 5 million pounds cover. We ask for a copy this in advance of your stay. Please also advise the Company Name when booking.

Can I have a takeaway delivered to the Property?
We leave takeaway leaflets in the black top draw under the Welcome Tray. There is also a selection on our website under the tab "Services" Local Services "Food" scroll down to Takeway. Uber eat and Just eat also deliver to the property. The postcode NG14 7LS

Can I have an on-line food delivery?
Yes, the main supermarkets visit all the time.

Taking the turning into Gibsmere, which is sign posted, stay on the road to the very end and do not take any turnings. The road ends at the property.

Is there CCTV at the property?
Yes there are several cameras surrounding the outside of the property for your safety and the properties safety.

Can I request a visit to view the property before I book?
Yes, subject to availability, no weekends or evenings after 6pm.

Will there be anyone onsite to meet me upon my arrival?
If requested someone can be onsite to meet you if required to go through any of the appliances etc.
However, the key to the property is left in a box to the right hand side of the front door, under the CCTV Camera which is in operation for the properties security. A code to access the key is provided prior to your arrival.

Can I cancel my booking or amend the date?
Pease see our Terms & Conditions which are attached along with your Booking Contract when you make your Booking. The T & Cs are also available on our website and are updated regularly for you to view.We request Clients have travel insurance that will cover the cost of their stay if it is they are unable to attend.
Your Booking Contract can be used to make the claim to your insurance.
To amend your date of stay, subject to availability please enquire as there may be a change in cost.

Do I need to clean the barbecue?

Yes, we accept a £100.00 Holding Fee, this holds the dates for 10 days before your 30% deposit is due.
Although it is non refundable, the £100.00 Holding Fee is deducted from your 30% deposit due.
Do you have filtered water?
Yes we have a Zip Tap in the kitchen. This supply's instant filtered hot and cold water.

How do I get hot water from the Zip Tap?
Please note the hot water button has a child lock on it. To dispense hot water please hold the lock and hot water button at the same time.

Can I dive in the Pool?
No, the pool is too shallow for diving.

Can I have floats in the Pool?
Yes, but we ask you take them away with you at the end of your visit. We are not liable for any safety. Please see our Booking T & Cs.

Can I take drinks into the Pool?
We ask you not to, as if a glass gets broken, injury can occur.

Can you leave keys to lock the swimming pool doors?
Yes, there is a set left on a hook to the left side of the Lobby Entrance. A key is also left in Bedroom 9 (Deluxe Suite) access.

Do you have a Swimming Pool cover?
Yes, this is easily removed, however our Managers Erin or Solly can assist if required. Please call them on the numbers provided.

Do you provide towels for the swimming pool?
No. However you may request these before your stay and we make a charge per towel.

How deep is the Pool?
Shallow end is 4ft, deep end 5ft.

In winter does the temperature of the Pool drop?
Yes, as the pool is heated by a ground heat source pump, this can happen, if it is very cold outside. Please ensure the swimming Pool Cover is left over, when not in use to help avoid this happening.

Is the Pool heated?
Yes, the heating is included in the cost of your stay.

What are the dimensions of the heated pool?
10 x 3 metres.

What is the temperature of the Pool?
The pool temperature stays around 30 degrees. In cold spells, this may alter slightly. We provide a pool cover and this is best left over to avoid this happening when not in use.

Will someone enter the property during my stay to check the pool?
We will try not to disturb you during your stay. However, subject to your length of stay, someone may have to enter the property to check the level of the water and test the pool for its PH and Chlorine levels. But we do contact you to arrange a convenient time and day.
